Besides round bar etc, what else can we make use of. Are there stepper motors inside (CANON MP 560 printer / scanner). which we can easily interface to micros such as Arduinos?

They used to have steppers but now mainly use DC motors with simple encoders I think. Also the couple I've taken apart most recently seemed to have done away with the useful round bars too.

Hi

I stripped 2 Epson printers this week, springs, round bar, collars to slide on the bar and 4 stepper motors. I ordered darlington driver boards to run the steppers, £1 each. Then discovered the motors take 700mA and the 2003 chip only sinks 500mA so will have to double up channels.
