Hi there

I am selling a lathe on behalf of my late father and someone has me about a “prive “. Is this part of the lathe.

Jonathan,

I suspect this is a typo. I've certainly never heard of the expression. If you could expand a little by quoting it in context, that may allow us to suggest what the enquirer is on about.

Have you tried responding to the query and asking for clarification?

John

Never heard of a prive on a lathe, but I don't speak French, either. Maybe they meant "drive" meaning the drive system - motor, belts, gears, type of motor control, etc.

If the lathe is still current simply send him the Amadeal link.

My best guess is that "prive" is a very corrupted form of "private message" Can the OP use these before a certain number of postings?

I expect that it means drive. there are two types, brushed and brushless. The latter is desirable but bumps the price up between two and three hundred pounds so expect to be asked the question. I have an Amadeal brushless lathe but I haven't yet had the time to plug it in!

I'd go for "price" - only one letter wrong and adjacent on the keyboard.
