I need a Collet nut

Does anyone know the correct Collett clamping nut size for a Haspa K24 Spindle motor.

Where can I buy one ??

Thanks James, yes I did. They are very very expensive, over £60 for 1 collet and 1 nut.

I just wonder what ER collets match ?

Would it be a major job to make your own nut. I presume you have the spindle so will have thread size & cone angle. Most other dimensions can be a compromise.

It might be good to look at the item about which he is talking - see Jason's link. It spins at 12,000 rpm.

For an item engineered to work in proper balance at that high speed, the £60 quoted above is a bargain.

I did look. But that £60 is for a collett & nut. The OP did just ask for a nut so the nut should be much cheaper. He then wondered what ER32 colletts fitted ?? Most router collett nuts are priced between £4.99 & £21 and some are rated to 25000rpm. As long as it a plain nut without any fancy features on the interior I still dont see why it is not possible to make one. Using good quality material either hex or round and carefull machining the nut should be balanced. Looking at my high speed router (25000rpm) the collett nut does not look all that fantastic or out of the ordinary or very hard. I have 3 routers and none of the nuts look very special. In fact all of them are flat bottomed with no special features. (just checked)

I measured the thread and it appears it's 1.5 whit thread diameter is 0.7", does this help ?

I doubt a German tool would have Whitworth threads, more likely Metric are you sure it's not M18 x 1.5

Also post a photo of the collet as that will determine whether the nut needs a tapered end or plain, any notch to retain collet etc.

Does the collet actually fit in the end you are measuring, thought the flexi shafts screwed onto the spindle.

If I read it correctly, it is a strange one at M18.5 x 1.5. And you are correct. There is no collet in the world to fit that opening.

Yep, I thought it strange too, It more likely is M18 x 1.5 to Quote, 'no collet in the world to fit that thing' Anyone fance making one.   It's not tapered, looks plain.
