I have just got a set of two linear scales and a display unit. Has anybody any expertise on this set up. I have powered on the display with one of the scales connected but I can get absolutely no movement of the display when the linear scale is moved. This is the same on both channels with either of the scales connected.

During the setup it asks for the baud rate to be set, I didn’t think his would be relevant with a ttl input?

I have contacted the vendor but as yet I have had no reply.

Any Experts out there?

There are lots of DRO's. More details about the scales would help. Make and model, photo, etc.

I've got one this year and no problems. I did not have to set anything up, it just worked out of the box. I did however get the scales [jing- same as yours] and the display from the same supplier on Banggood. Could be yours aren't compatible.

I think you may be right, I will have to try to return the unit for a refund.

Many thanks

They are possibly not safe since they have the Chinese Export C E rather than the correct European version.

I have a friend who is renowned for seeking the keenest price. He bought a readout and scales direct from China but separate suppliers.

Physically compatible but the plnouts on the scales were different to those required by the readout, even though the plugs fitted. He persevered. Rewired the plugs and got it all working.

Given the separate suppliers, he hardly had grounds to reject either. Me, I'd rather get the whole setup from the same supplier even at a somewhat higher cost.

Not saying this applies to the OP, just something else to be aware of.

Mike
