I bought this motor some time ago with the idea of powering a spit roaster. My problem is that there are four wires and I don’t have a clue how to wire the motor up also should there be a capacitor involved somewhere.

Is there anybody out there who can advise?

If you look close at this **LINK**

The capacitor is across the red/brown and the mains would be on the brow/blue

From the name plate you need a 5uF capacitor like this **LINK**

I cant quite see the wire ends, but they look like they have spade ends, if so you may be able to get a capacitor with the same size terminals.

Adrian, thanks very much for the advice. I think I might even be able to locate the capacitor that must have been with it when I bought it🥴
