not stopping

1 forum posts | Hi all. I work in a school and have 2 Harrison 11" lathes I think they are the L5 model. The problem I am having is that one does not stop spinning for 4 / 5 seconds after I move the handle over to the left. I have tried tightening the clutch as per the handbook ( fully counter clockwise then back a third of a turn ) but this is not working.
I am working from a Harrison operators handbook and spare parts list book. Any thoughts please.

![]() 229 forum posts 40 photos | Hi Steve, I have one of these lathes, (11 inch), and I think it is an updated Harrison L5A, and very much the same as the later model 140. I think that when I last adjusted the clutch, I gave it a little more clearance than you mentioned. Regards Brian |
