![]() 19226 forum posts 749 photos 86 articles | Driving to London at the weekend it was hard not to feel guilty seeing a river of metal ahead of me and an empty passenger seat. I'm sure there are many people here who might visit shows and events, if only they had access to a car, those who would appreciate a like-minded person to share along journey and even those who fancy splitting the fuel costs of a long drive. We could even save a few grammes of CO2 here and there! Can I suggest those who want to use this thread to make offers of lifts when they are travelling to events (or even places like museums etc.) Equally those without transport who seek a lift, please make a post here. I suggest that once the initial offer/request is responded to, that you take it to personal messages to make the detail arrangements to avoid publicising addresses etc. Two simple rules: no charging more than a contribution to fuel costs, and please don't take anyone for granted or assume you have a right to a lift from anyone. ![]() 2668 forum posts 352 photos | Well done. Darn good idea. Remember the Bus strikes way, way back. I used to go to town on a morning with the car full of people from the bus stop near me. Most smoked so car was worse than driving in fog. Steve. |
