![]() 402 forum posts 37 photos | Although I have a few tweaks left to do on my first clock, I have challenged myself with a new one. It's based on a 1908 battery clock made by the Reason Murday Company. Lots of fascinating details to struggle with! The photo is my progress so far. I would be interested if anyone knows what a battery would look like from 1908. Edited By David Noble on 16/01/2020 13:17:17 |

The Hipp Toggle and the electrical contacts were tricky to get right I seem to remember. Enjoy your project. Any questions feel free to pm me... Edited By lfoggy on 16/01/2020 18:22:43 |

How are you going to make the balance spring? Well,,,, I tried to make the spring for the first clock that I made, the John Wilding Large Wheel clock but found it difficult to source the correct strip thickness. I could buy thicker or thinner. I did try making a thicker spring but would have needed body building course to wind it up! So I ended up by buying the correct one. Now, as I can't even find any dimensions for the balance spring, again I have resorted to buying one David P.S. your clock looks brilliant, I hope mine is nearly as good. |
