4655 forum posts 304 photos | I noticed this brand new 100mm/ 4" Pratt chuck on ebay, which has obviously never been on a lathe, there are no threaded or plain mounting holes. Do you think it was originally a special order? I would have been interested, but I chanced upon a new one myself, by accident which has holes already which will eventually be used for small stuff.

![]() 2747 forum posts 123 photos | I would have thought that the mounting details would be shown in the PB catalogue but what is wrong with the three mounting holes seen in your picture? Whilst self centering this is a lever operated rather than a key operated chuck. Ian P The eBay pictures, not yours I mean Edited By Ian P on 18/11/2019 13:10:12 |

4655 forum posts 304 photos | Good answer, Ian, I had not twigged the lever part. The mounting holes are either three at 120 degrees, or two at 180 degrees. There is no picture of the side of the chuck. And with further scrutiny, the plate with the holes screws to the centre and is locked with an axial grub screw, and two serial numbers match the fitted parts (and the jaws).
