1 forum posts | I’m in the process of restoring an old super 7. When dissembling, I found the clutch assembly and headstock roller bearings were all loaded with grease? There was also grease in the ‘apron’ assembly around the pinion gears. I can’t find any reference to greasing anything on the Myford, only oiling with the appropriate oils, ie H32, ISO32 or comparable. I’ve removed all traces of grease and would just like to confirm only oils should be used before I reassemble? Many thanks. |

893 forum posts | I have the Myford hand book and are unable to find anything about grease, just oil. I used hydraulic fluid which matches the approve specification Esso Nutto 44, mine is a Shell product. Almost any agricultural agent, earth moving equipment dealer, ships chandler has an equivalent. Take along a clean plastic milk container for a litre, should be around £2.50/3 by now. John |

438 forum posts 2 photos | Neil That's always been my understanding . I have owned and used a Super 7 for over 40 years and have always only used oil. The instruction book only mentions oil. I think think the question has been raised on this forum before and the answer from everyone was "Only oil". Rod |
