15 forum posts 1 photos | Many years ago I bought a new Toyo MD-1 drilling machine in Devon. The 2 drive belts (which look like commercial grade o-rings) have become brittle over the years. Who can help with a source for a set of spare drive belts or with information about the dimensions of the original belts? Thanks, Manfred |

912 forum posts 40 photos | Could you go the same route as for a Unimat SL and use round polyurethane belting? Easy to join with a hot knife, even easier with a plastic cutting tip on a soldering gun. Start with the belt a little too long and shorten until it doesn't slip. Brian |

![]() 1494 forum posts 403 photos | Manfred - I took the little lathe to the firm in the link and they matched the o-rings to it. By the way, I tried polyurethane / hot knife belting route but it did not work - I recommend the o-ring option as the way to go. Good luck. Rik |

15 forum posts 1 photos | Brian, Rik, Thanks for your support. Since having some experience with PU belting on spinning wheels (wife) my first choice would be a seamless o-ring. I found that it is quite a task to achieve a (more or less) true running PU joint even for a low rev application like a spinning wheel. Manfred |

Manfred Use V blocks and a straight edge, works perfectly every time for round PU belting and also for bonding O rings from cord. |
