I have a 5/16" (8mm) steam injector, purchased from LSM and would like to replace one of the pipe nuts with a different fitting but cannot identify the thread .

The thread has a max diameter of 14.15mm and a pitch of 1mm. (is this a custom made thtead ???)

Paul.

Just a guess, could it be 9/16 x 26 BSB or BSC

Thanks Colin.

My BSB thread chart does not list a 9/16" thread but BSC does and it appears to to be similar. I have a 1/2" BSB tap and the thread profile matches.

Cheers, Paul.

I suppose it depends where they source their fittings from, if mainland Europe then the various metric fine 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 pitches are the usual ones used on steam fittings.

If English made then 26tpi would be likely as Colin says, A quick look at their catalogue shows their nuts for 3/8" pipe are threaded 9/16 x 26 so that would be the best bet.
