Hi All,

I saw these advertised outside at my local B&Q (were £7 each).

About a foot across by 3/4 thick. Reasonably smooth on one side. Other side is a bit rough. The two on display were chipped but there were plenty good ones on the pallet.

They're a reasonable size without being too heavy.

You could lap three together.

Worth thinking about for £6...

Cheers,

Wilson.

Granite discs can also be used for the base of things like tapping fixtures. Nice and heavy and stable and cheap as chips if you can get them for £2 a pop.

Another idea is to contact a kitchen fitter and see if they have any offcuts of epoxy/granite composite worktop (e.g. the bit cut out for a sink)

Our local worktop guy will provide off cuts to size polished and bevelled etc.

My surface plate is made of one such and several models have polished granite bases.
