258 forum posts 259 photos | I keep getting a message saying my posts have too many characters and I should split into two posts. What puzzles me is I see other posts from members with far more characters than I have been allowed. Is this because I am a new member?

10668 forum posts 2415 photos | Probably not because you're a new member. I sometimes get the message because photographs count as 'characters' as well as text. I notice some of your posts link pictures hosted on i.imgur.com This method may consume more characters than hosting the same photo in a forum album. (Or the forum editor thinks it might!) Another possibility is writing text in a Word Processor and then pasting it into the forum editor. If you use a different font, I think this can transfer a bulky font specification as well as what you typed, creating a giant post most of which is invisible! Formatting also increases the character count. Dave |

![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | You said that you were copy and pasting the engine posts from another site, probably picking up a load of unwanted stuff from there. Nothing to do with being a new member. EDIT, Just looked at one of the engine posts and there is indeed a whole load of stuff carried over that is not needed.
