I cant seem to get any metric thread to fit and I don't any other taps to test fit? Does anyone know what bolts I need to buy? Thanks for your assistance in advance! Edited By David Leahy 1 on 17/09/2018 22:51:06 |

Being Elliott which is an old English make (still going btw as Gate) it will be BSW most probably with a possibility of BSF. |

1001 forum posts 49 photos | Just took one of the 6 rear cap head bolts out on an Elliot Ultra 6 1/4" D 1-4 and they are standard metric M8 X 1.25. Being an 8" it may be a standard M10 easy just measure the hole will be around 8.5/8.6mm dia or M8 being 6.8mm ish.

1486 forum posts 105 photos | David, my 6" chuck has standard pitch M10 threads. If you're still unsure about yours try a 6mm allen key in those screws already in your chuck then try a 1/4" allen key. If the 6mm fits but the 1/4" doesn't you know they are metric. |
