![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Looks like there are 16 hollow stays each side and the hornplates have just been put on with a couple of screws through 2 of the holes during construction. ![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | The engine has just been tacked together during construction or for the sake of taking e-bay photos, I often just poped a couple of screws into mine during construction as that is all that's needed. Once finished if button heads are used then they don't look a lot different to the flattened head of the dummy smokebox stays particularly under a coat of paint. It's a very common way to build traction engine boilers. My Minnie also used threaded hollow stays |
