Hi Dev;

Have a peek at the National 2-1/2" gauge association - **LINK**

They have a Black 5 in their designs page.

I was a member of this association - and was impressed by their organization and determination, but (sadly) the closest track with 2-1/2" to ME here in Canada was 6 hours drive each way, and the local club would not put in a 2-1/2" gauge rail, so sold my little locomotive on.

There's lots of good that comes in small packages; I really like the smaller locomotives.

John.

Hi Dev,

The 21/2" gauge Black 5 was described the construction in the Model Engineer by Martin Evans either late 1985 and early 1986, the Model Engineers in question may be available from say TEE publishing and the drawings may be available from sarikhobbies.com

Usual disclamers,

Regards,

Bob

Welcome to the forum Dev,

I have a soft spot for the Black 5 as I had a Hornby Dublo one when I was a boy.

I've done a bit more investigation on Martin evans 21/2" gauge black five, it was described between 1984 - 1985 in the following issues:-

3728, 3730, 3732, 3734, 3736, 3738, 3740, 3742, 3744, 3746, 3748, 3750, 3752, 3757.

I trust the foregoing may be of assistance.
