Did Martin Evans serialize the building of Royal Engineer in ME ?

If he did any idea of when it was published ?

As no one else has answered:- to the best of my recall, ME described RE in a series of articles which also included Royal Scot, Fury and (?) Leander as variations.

Reeves list most or all of the castings as applying to all 4 designs.

Don't remember the date, but I'd guess mid '80's.

Hope that helps.

Have you tried searching this ME index?

A search for "Martin Evans Royal" gave amongst others; #3224, #3371, #3374, #3380, #3382, #3384, #3389.... These are probably for Royal Scot, Royal Engineer #3516, #3519...

I don't know if this may be of help?

In Blackgates Engineering catalogue it says that two versions of Royal Scott 4-6-0 Loco and Tender 5" by Martin Evans were described in ME volumes 140 - 141

Royal Engineer articles were mixed in with "Fury", which was a high pressure compound, Engineer was a standard 3-cyl Royal Scot.

So if you look in an index you need to cover both.

But started about Oct 1974 start looking at issue 3499, 3500 - ish
