arceurotrade DRO

Hi all i finally got the warco GH Universal Mill set up and ready to go

I fitted it with a set of DRO`s from arceurotrade and i am happy with them

i was wondering if there is any way of turning off the fractions when it is set on the inch setting

Look under the specification tab for the dro on the Arc site.

On my not from Arc DRO, I haven't found a way of hiding the fractions. It may not be the same DRO as Jimmy's, but my Inch display shows thou on the left together with the equivalent fraction on the right. Pressing SET repeatedly alters the precision of the fraction but doesn't turn it off. When working in inches I just ignore it.

There's a lot to be said in favour of working in millimetres. Takes cover...

I had doubts about mine when I bought it. As an inexpensive unit it's not coolant or swarf proof. I also wondered about accuracy, repeatability and battery life.

In practice it works very well and it's still going strong after nearly 3 years. It's on it's second set of batteries.

I've had two small problems with it. Firstly the X scale shifted slightly after a year causing the sensor head to bind and jump after moving about 50 - 100mm. My fault - a fixing bolt wasn't tight. Second problem: at first I mounted the display units on the control box. One of the USB connectors is loose and the shock of the contactor operating was sometimes enough to wobble the connection and lose position. Moving the display away from vibration fixed that.

So far moderate amounts of swarf and coolant on the scales hasn't done any damage. Fingers crossed!

Ah, didn't realise it was a dual display!

My (woodworking focused) height gauge cycles through metric, thou and fractions.
