521 forum posts 217 photos | Hi All Having just finished making my first I/C engine, a 2 stroke Whittaker 46 firefly my thoughts now turn to my next project. Here is some criteria I would like to meet. Not to tricky I'm still learning, single cylinder around 22-25 bore size, four stroke, no castings, glow fuel, bar stock only and preferably one which could eventually become airborne. I've done some research on the internet the only engine which has really caught my eye is the lynx NEI5S. I have read the thread for this engine and it certainly looks interesting. Most of the other engines I've seen seem to older designs with very little back up information. I notice that the plans and booklet for the Lynx are around a whopping £80, so I would want to be sure before I shell out that kind of money. I seem to remember some time ago Rod Jenkins mentioning a four stroke that he had made. Was it the Lynx Rod? Any help or guidance would be appreciated. A quick footnote, the Whittaker could well be airborne by the end of next month, which I'm looking forward to seeing!! geoff

521 forum posts 217 photos | Hi guys, thank you for your comments and a big thanks to you Jason for the P.M. I see that the Matador 60 was featured in RCM & E in October '85. Just found a copy on ebay. Not sure how much detail there will be in the article but should be worth seeing. Have you got a copy Jason? If not and you would like one let me know. Best wishes to you in OZ Pete. cheers geoff |
