Hello all! I'm a new member based in Hereford and have finally decided to join the forum. I always find useful links on google that point back to this forum so it was time for me to join. I have a wide interest in all forms of model engineering and my main drive is a wish to see proper engineering skills maintained and used. I'm 31 and am in the fortunate position of owning some workshop kit but would like to meet some like minded people locally to learn and work with. I am planning to join HSME later in the year when some of my other commitments have calmed down. Looking forward to soaking up what the forum has to offer. Happy Engineering and Happy New Year!

Welcome along Craig, I am to far away to meet up but enjoy the forum and hobby. What kit have you got ? It is nice to see a younger guy involved.

Thank you all for your kind welcome. In my kit at the moment I have a Colchester Master 6.5" x 36" lathe, KRV2000 mill with 2 axis cnc (I am planning to upgrade to 3 axis in the summer as I do some organic nesting work), Myford MG12 cylindrical grinder, small surface grinder, tool grinder, 8" vertical shaper, arbour press and 10ton floor press. I'm looking for a nice TIG welding plant next as I have benches and shelving to knock up when I re-order the workshop into its new home next month.

Welcome aboard!

You'll find the Forum very interesting, informative, and quite addictive.

Do I take it that you are a H S M E member? If not, they are a very friendly bunch, (as are the folk at the WaterWorks Museum next door on Broomy Hill) I occasionally travel over to Hereford from East Anglia to volunteer there.

Howard

Hello Howard. I haven't joined HSME just yet but I aim to a little later in the year. We (the family) regularly head down to Broome Hill so the kids ( ) can play!

Jonathan, I would love to meet up. I pass Craven Arms quite regularly as I have a supplier in Burnley so I go up the A49. PM me and we can arrange to ramble on about engineering in all it's forms!
