Where can I buy decent quality drill bits : 1.6mm and 1.7mm ? I have been using those small packets of ten that come in the plastic cylinders from Hong Kong (ebay) but the latest batch is awful : they wobble, they are rusty and they snap easily.

I am in Australia but I will buy from overseas if I have to.

Australian RS web site lists box of 10 Ø1.6mm at $9.55 and box of ten Ø1.7mm at $9.73. Don't know what tax and delivery they will add but I buy a lot of RS brand coated drills for drilling 316 stainless pipe and they always seem to be of good quality.

Tracy Tools in UK. They ship pretty cheap to Oz and the quality of their drills and HSS toolbits is excellent. As always, you save on shipping if buying a bunch of stuff in one shipment.

Best drill bits iv'e ever used are" Walter Titex", drill dead on size with a nice finish everytime. Not cheap but worth it. Guhring are also very good, then there are also Dormer I think the Titex's and Guhring's would have to be from a specialist engineering supplier, Dormer's will probably be more readily available.

cheers.

You can buy sutton drill bits from blackwoods and if they don't have them in stock they can order them in but you usually have to buy ten of them in the small sizes .

You can sighn up for an acount with them and order online and they will deliver / post or you can pick up

Ian.
