![]() 6 forum posts | Hello from Western Canada. My workshop includes a nine-inch Southbend lathe, milldrill,Asian lathe of larger size than the Southbend which I have not used much yet, drill press and all the little stuff that clutters the place until required.I have built one marine engine,a much modified double ten using no castings. The crankshaft is below the bedplate,so all the rods are longer and the radius of the expansion links is changed accordingly.I "inherited"a Cliff Blackstaffe 2-4-2 partially built, which I have done a lot of work on,mostly cylinders and valve gear. The drawings are very faded and require a fair bit of head scratching. My new project is Peter Rich's five inch Dean Single, built in 2 1/2 gauge, which will give me a locomotive which I can carry by myself and it will fit on a windowsill.I have some of the ME articles on construction, but I am missing a number of them.If anyone has the complete series I would love to hear from them.It began in October 2010,Vol 205,No 4389. I look forward to corresponding with other members regarding our common interests. Mike Stacey Saltspring Island British Columbia. |
