Have a look at this video - encourages all of us to have a go with carbide tooling. Stick with the video - This guy is a real nutter ! Watch him use the Boxford, then adjust his digital calliper. His punch and die is pretty impressive too!

Good Guinness advert. However I leave the boozing until after cleaning up.

I note that he wears gloves while machining.

Hi Bob,

I often use carbide tooling, especially when turning parts that have been flame cut. After the hard parts are turned away it is time to dig out the tangential toolholder. The surface on mine doesn't look as nice as those on the video though.
