I was wondering if any of you guys are like me, always trawling boot sales and auctions etc looking for bargains? I thought it might be interesting to have a latest purchase thread in a similar vein to the continually running "what did you do today" and "workshop progress" threads?

AND I wanted to brag about some of my recent good buys. face 20 I seems to have got lucky a few times recently including:

Marlco knurling tool £5 disgust

667 Carbide tips free with another purchase! smile o

The guy had no idea what it was! After I explained what it was and how it worked he let me have it for a fiver! It needed new wheels and it was covered in black grease but I still felt a bit Dick Turpin. Lol.

From the local car boot sale, an unused Mitutoyo 150mm digital caliper complete with a calibration certificate from a UKAS laboratory for 3 quid. Now been swiped by my daughter for use on her silversmithing degree.

I have been drilling some "Sea glass" and small beach stones to make a neckless for my granddaughter with these :-

Drilled 25 x 1.5mm holes with the first drill - and its still going strong! Another 19 drills to go. Secret is to drill at high speed (Dremel tool) and use water as a coolant.
