5 forum posts | I am building the large boiler for Tich. Am I right in thinking that there are no stays in the throatplate? The book describes stays going through the backhead and through the sides of the firebox, but no mention of any coming through the throatplate. I can't see them shown on the drawings either, but someone has recommended that I put some in. What have other builders done?
