Im asking advice on the minimum bore for a shop bought ratchet lubricator, and if anyone runs their loco without lubricator. Thanks.

Suppose it depend on how big your bought lubricator is, little 1" cube or 2"x2"x3" large one and what rate you have it pumping at 1 notch or several

Hello Fizzy,

If your lubricator is about 1/8" bore, generally the normal size for 31/2" and 5" gauge locomotives, then I'd use 1/8" x 26g copper tube with 1/4" x 40 fittings, quite adequate.

Regards,

Bob

Thanks Bob. I wasnt too far off the mark with 1/8 tube and 7/32 fittings.
