![]() 1285 forum posts 353 photos | i was waiting for Diane to post something on here but havent seen anything yet, anyway very sad to report that Gordon died on 2nd March at a grand old age. many will know Gordon as the maker of superb boiler fittings for Don Young, and making very fine extremely good miniature injectors for Don and after Don's death for M J Engineering and Polly etc. Gordon was a lovely guy and did much to raise the standard of miniature loco boiler fittings in the traditions of Roy Amesbury, though in Gordon's case commercially. Gordon and Don were friends from schooldays at Sandown Isle of Wight, and built their first loco together. later Gordon's Maid of Kent was the test bed for many of Don's design experiments. Gordon's cremation will take place at Portchester Crematorium (south chapel) on 27th March at 1.45pm (if anyone wants further details please pm me) cheers, julian Edited By julian atkins on 16/03/2015 00:27:14 |
