I've still got some bits left over from my M1000 days, a spanner for head bolts 19/32" AF from memory. More likely 5/16 W.W. Russell. |

1 forum posts | De Havilland Gipsy engines have metric threads and Whitworth heads as the Airdisco company who converted Royal Aircraft Factory engines for De Havilland did not want to re certificate the originally French Renault V 8 engine the RAF engine was based on. The similarity of 7x1 metric and 1/4 Whitworth has caused a lot of grief! |
