So it looks perfectly reasonable to me to switch the AC relay from 24V AC derived by what I take to be a 240 volt primary with 2x24V secondaries connected in series driven from 110 Volts.

I have this link to article it is very similar to what I intend to do, if you take a look at the circuit diagram or page 10 I wonder how he operates the 24 volt DC relay with 110 volt AC transformer.

AC coil voltages available __ Expands application use

Edited By Michael Gilligan on 08/03/2022 07:58:05

The data sheet isn't crystal clear, but it confirms the 976XBXH-24A has a 250ohm 24Vac coil. Not to be confused with the 976XBXH-24D which has an 1100ohm 24Vdc coil, so type carefully when ordering!

Technical information is notoriously terse. It's often written for experts, not innocents abroad. Makes my life miserable...

There is an art to reading datasheets. They're often concise, important information can be in footnotes, or missing, and they aim to present the part as the best thing since sliced bread without telling outright porkies. Standards vary from country to country as well.

For example MOSFET datasheets sometimes quote a headline current rating, but in the real world that rating is not achieveable.

Thanks again I am scratching my head as to why I didn’t see it how ever the problem is solved I have ordered a 24 volt AC relay and a Block transformer from RS Components the transformer is coming from overseas I also have to import the KB DC drive as the 230 volt DC model is not stocked in NZ. When completed I will report how successful the modification is it will still be cheaper than purchasing a new power feeder and I will be able to get parts.
