![]() 1613 forum posts 72 photos | Wouldn't be without my tangential tool , one of the great benefits for me is the ease the tool bit can be sharpened ! Like at lot of members of this forum I wear exspensive glasses so not to keen on spending much time on the grinder. H |

1001 forum posts 49 photos | With tipped you dont have to keep faffing about setting heights. Havent used a tangential since 1992, great for learning with but limited use.

3453 forum posts 23 photos | You’re a professional machinist though Jon, I guess most of us on here are hobbyists so spending a couple of seconds setting a tool is no big deal, we do it for fun not a living. |

Duncan, this might be interesting if you haven't seen it - for the Unimat rather than Cowells but similar size. Thanks John, that looks just the thing. I might even have a bit of cast iron lurking under the bench to make it out of, but I'll need to mout an expedition, workshop is a bit of a tip at the moment. The swing over the saddle on the Cowells is 2" (at least mine is), so I think I make it a tad shorter, but otherwise it's all there Thanks again |
