Thanks John

Have you strengthened the base ?

Was that your own design jack?

The jack I made out of 3” ally bar stock I had laying around. Turned it down and thread it 1 1/8” bsw same as lathe nose. Drilled 1”thick sq. block threaded to suit. Drilled thro Jack 1/2” dia to allow for holding down bolt.

Drilled 1/2” dia hole thro mill foot so as to locate jack, tho base of cabinet, thro 1/2” thick reinforcingp plate on underside of cabinet the plate is about 4” wide and 10” long. One extra bolt at the opp end to the jack bolt.

Dose any of this make sense. I’ll post more pics..

Hi, all any one out there who can help me change the metric dials on my Myford VMA attachment to imperial. I think in metric if I have to but a life time working in imperial would make life easier for me.

Re my first post mill attached and so far operating ok be it just light cuts as I get feel of it.

Thanks. John

John, I am in exactly your position at present - VMA on a 254 bracket, that I want to fit to an S7. I wanted to see the pics of how you managed this, but cant find them as the album seems to come up blank. Is that just me...?

Also, how did you verify the axes of the column relative to the late bed?

Cheers, Colin
