3631 forum posts 160 photos | You might find a microscope graticule eyepiece useful Neil. 10x should have a focal length of 25mm. (250mm/X) They come in 2 sizes the smaller one will have a field of view of around 18mm or so. They tend to be a lot cheaper than astro eyepieces with them. This one is high eyepoint as well 261904055261 but the ordinary ones are ok. John - |

I have to decide whether or not to butcher an old 50mm x 300mm scope - it has a 0.925" barrel with rack & pinion but I can bodge the eyepiece to fit. Trouble is that although the scope is an old cheapy, taking it apart shows it has a lovely coated airspaced achro doublet - it's just too long an FL for a finder. If I cut off a big chunk of the barrel it will spoil it as a 300mm scope :-/ Neil |
