863 forum posts 104 photos | I used to work with a guy who was a general builder, built like an Ox and a good laugh. One day I had some cables to crimp and couldn't find my ratchet crimping tool so had to resort to the backup stamped plate type that also strips wires and shears small screws. The crimps were slightly larger than the crimper could handle, 10mm² I think, so I said to him, here can you crush this for me. He caught hold of my crimping tool and not only did he crimp the wire but bent the tool handles as well. Lesson learned. |

122 forum posts | Crimptool for bootlaces ferrules available from banggood at 13GBP. I purchased a set a while back thet are well made and do good job. Never looked back since. As mentioned previously its important to select the correct one for the guage being used. Sets of ferrules are available from various suppliers such as CPC and RS. They are also available with various pin lengths. I have just had to rewire a tractor were most terminations were faulty. all the faulty ones had been soldered by the past owner. Crimping was quick and made reassembly a doddle. When using these bootlace ferulles check you have enough space for the stainrelief on the end to fit in the terminal block |
