local bell works had a full churches worth stolen from their works..would have needed two TWO lorries and the use of the works crane.....funny, residential properties 100 yards away. Bells delivered that day....makes you wonder.... |

the tapping mc. Stops the tap rotating with the fork you see recipricating...larg hole near 'collet' end allows nut to fall free on the return stroke. Great machine...parts like rain.... |
Thread: How do I cut this out?? |
05/02/2012 01:15:35 |
john has put it more thoughly than I but in essence the same by bolting firmly only and leavin some stock to grip the final finishing is done by rotating the part about the pivot [bolt/pin whatever] as if you were using a rotary table. LIGHT CUTS ONLY use this on outside ; then and only then bore out inner..... before removing any clamps or part from chuck...CHECK YOU HAVE FINISHED.....always pain to re-setup ... |

soft wire? to make scale 'chain' I do this link at time with electrical/electronic sidecutters thinking about it might make modified tin snips with one blade as former then shear the lot |

Hate to be scrouger but I to would love a sample...facinated by inteligent production kit before we went for "manual"machines with motors to drive the handles.. C N C =ibm instant but mindless |

like I say ... new hobby |
04/02/2012 18:08:45 |
you never know. They can be sharpened but not realy at home unless you need a new hobby...3*3.142*tpi teeth and hss.. Cost of regrind prob. exceeds cost of new saw.. But steel might be handy as "washer" |

Rough out with favourite saw etc. Leave "handle " at 3 oclock..remove later.Vertical peg on mill table .Pilot hole to match in center of stock.Rotate stock on peg using mill to mill outer perimeter. Depending on cutter choice might need nut on top of 'peg' |

sometimes what you buy is better and cheaper than engineering supplies...and at least available over counter.... Even as starting place for adaption/modification cheaper than kit castings or even metal stock.. |

thanks...Canbus not too hard but looks like CNC side dead in water dont fancy reinventing that wheel....still if I can get the config tool or at least a terminal progamme to talk to them making them emulate steppers ought to be possible... hanks again |
31/01/2012 21:20:07 |
manual also talks of "3 phase stepper" which is new to me. |
31/01/2012 21:18:35 |
yeah the ifs is intelligent ...ie all motor drive is built into box on end of motor...probably realy servo that "acts" like stepper... Cant get piccy up but motor is about 3" cube with about the same of drive electronics bolted on.. Looks like encoder embeded in there too but manual does talk about 20k steps/rev. Also has 8bit i/o built into box. Now maybe config able to act dum with simple two input STEP & CW/CCW |
31/01/2012 20:59:25 |
or should I strip em down to just the motors..same 20,000 steps/ rev looks tasty... |

Hi all. I have been given some steppers and am looking into a home brew cnc. So far so good Heres the spec. IFS 61/2CAN-DA1/-I-Z30/O-001RPP30/I12 phew... Ok looks like can bus 45Nm 36V Real question .do any of the free/ low cost cnc software able to drive via CAN ? |

Wolfie...Ever heard the joke..if I were going there I wouldn't start from here....? What you are looking for at 3/32" sounds more like a slitting saw...bought in at the notional thickness. Diameter and hole size to suit job and or mandrel. Or make mandrel to suit ...but if in effect putting a screwdriver slot in the end of some thing slitting saws the thing Though 1mm slot drills are made but spindle speeds are horrendous |
