Hi all Have anew problem.how do you stop long lengths off BMS plate from distortion. A bit off background as to what I was trying to achieve. Had some 1/8 BMS plate left from cutting out main frames so used it for tender frames. All went well with the outside 3 inch wide frames. But when idid the inside frames 11/2 wide by 24 they bent both ways. Cuts where done buy hand with a normal hacksaw. Any thoughts on the cause and is it possible to rectify the bends. Many thanks Regards Gary |
Thread: How much ??? |
13/10/2011 21:42:02 |
Hi as a begIner my self I can see how hard it is to cost a project. Does the author make allowances for mistakes and ways off working . Some might use castings whilst somebody with more knowledge might fabricate apart. Over the length of a project costs are spread out. So start and buy as needed modeling on HP Regards Gary |

Hi Versaboss. The hole is in the link bracket that I am fabricating. Not quite sure what it's for time will tell. I assume that in full size it would be a casting. Regards Gary |

Thanks Rod for that prompt reply. Best go and clean up and put back in chip pan where it belongs before the boss finds out. Just been on the Warco website found what you suggested but they will only supply with a new machine. Whilst that's tempting, justifying that to senior management might be hard. So ideas as where else to try would an engineering suppliers sell in small quantities Thanks Gary |
