Thread: The Quick Step Milling Unit |
21/07/2019 15:16:17 |
I am using a "Quick Step" Milling Unit as a router on my CNC. The unit is getting very hot and I wondered if anyone would know about lubrication in the gearbox. I have no manual of any kind. If anyone has knowledge of these units, I would be most grateful for any advice. |

Thread: Free 2D drawing programs |

I have been a CAD draughtsman for 50 years now. Unbelievable! Just enjoyed trialling the free and semi-free CAD & CAM offerings since hearing about the end of free Draftsight. For me Librecad for 2D and Freecad for 2 and 3D. I suggest if you "put your time in" to assimilate yourself to the particular way of working in Freecad you will be well rewarded and then quite intrigued by its constant evolution, as I have been. |

Can it adjust the fall back of the clapper box? If so it could adjust either the clearance angle on the tool by slanting the clapper forward. Or by the same method finely adjust the the fallback to give an extremely fine Z axis height adjustment. Just thinking out loud!! |
Thread: DraftSight no longer free |

Try FreeCad 0.18 with the workbook DRAFT selected. Stick with the drawing approach for a bit and you will find a very useful tool. If you wish you can convert instantly to 3D or just save your file as 2D. Here is brief overview of 2D :- **LINK** |

Chris - Recently made some for a friend on cnc lathe from silver steel. Cut a single compression slit and the runout was less than a thou old money. Well worth a try. |

DrDave - Ref F1 Acorn conversion. - Could I enquire as to how you connected the spindle motor (assuming it was the original?) I see you put in a KBIC driver. Was it difficult to configure at all please. Like Blitzer I would also appreciate stepper details Regards Rod |
