Pathetic response, Jason.

You didn't even edit my post under your own name.

The topic 'Who is telling the truth' has also been locked - it's laughable.

Thread: Central Heating Room Thermostat

As you have an Intergas boiler it would make sense to get a new control with OpenTherm capability.

I have a Remeha iSense controller, which has weather compensation and OpenTherm functions and together they give a very much 'set & forget' system that takes care of itself, regardless of the outside temperature.

A Nest also has OpenTherm, but uses local weather forcasts for its weather compensation which isn't quite as good as an outdoor temperature sensor, but nevertheless helps in keeping the boiler running at as low a temperature as possible.

120 million tonnes of trees felled for direct burning within the EU is reason enough for me to question what is really happening.

Martin.

Can anyone confirm the tree claim before Martin tackles the what is 'really happening' question?

Where does the figure of 120 million trees come from? I have good reason for thinking it's wrong so someone better prove the number is correct! Are they big trees or little ones? And does 120 million matter given that Nature estimate there are about 3 trillion trees in the world?

As for what's "really happening", that field of conjecture is wide-open to conspiracy theorists, If something is "really happening" other than reported developments, let's have the facts please. May be difficult because certain websites don't bother with facts or make them up.

Dave

Why can't you accept the video for what it is?

It's just another person's point of view that I happened to find interesting - that's all.

Check the screws in the die holder for alignment with the dimples in the die. If any are offset, it can distort the die, causing ruined threads.

You only have to imagine how much fuel it takes to cut, collect, process & transport the grass to see this idea will go nowhere.

It's a scam. Since when were grass clippings packed with enough energy to power anything more than a lukewarm composter?

My teachers were all good. The chap who taught us Economics had served a prison sentence for smuggling western currency into Czechoslovakia and smuggling out Black Market goodies. Serious offences in a Communist country. Lucky to be released early by Dubcek as a goodwill gesture just before the Russians invaded, otherwise he'd have done the full 7 years ...

Dave

Some of the nuns at my school deserved imprisonment, but were protected by their peceived goodness. angel I'm not aware of any ex-cons being on the teaching staff there though. smiley

I take it oil wasn't on the curriculum at your school?

Dave.

I see two perfecty reasonable comments of mine have been deleted by a moderator. In my opinion, that just weakens any counter argument.

The horse's mouth is the person saying it - and I never said they were more trustworthy. They should still be heard by everyone, warts & all.

That you're taking the Stonehenge thing so seriously is simply laughable - I heard they weren't going to stop until they got to Grimsby. dont know

Oh, and I never mentioned coal. The USA was working to stop the Nord Stream 2 pipeline into Europe way, way before the Ukraine conflict. Now that everything from Russia has been cancelled, the USA is lined up to supply very much more expensive FOSSIL FUEL energy. It's just a coincidence though, I'm sure.

My (now deleted) comment to Derek Hall was to query which non-despotic and non-lying regimes he thought there were avaiable to us to trade with.

You assume that I'm in love with fossil fuels - I'm not. The global, systematic push away from fossil fuels at the pace it is going will have very serious consequences for many people & their families. The replacement technology is simply not yet developed. Also, the fact that you stated earlier that you could afford to pay £10 per litre (£45.50 per gallon) for petrol/diesel tells me you are detached from the realities of many other peoples lives

Martin.

23/08/2022 13:52:59

Thanks for the answers.

The thing that made me ask the question is that the electricity they generate seems to come exclusively from burning fossil fuels.

It feels contradictory, considering the current narrative.

My EV is charged at cheap rate between 1 and 5am. Most people who have Evs will probably have cheap rate charging at home so wont be charging at evening times I hope.

Speaking as a Refusenik Denier Conspiracy Theorist, I'd like to say that you will be joined between 1 and 5am by everyone else wanting to charge their EV, wash their clothes and wash their dishes.

I don't think the power network is up to the job.
