He must keep track of his swarf !!!

It seemed to turn nicely

10/05/2016 08:42:25

Its a good 25 mins worth

Thread: Which plastic to bond to brass.
03/05/2016 12:01:12

I dont know how many you want to make but i'd buy some cheap knobs with the correct spline tun off the outside and bond into your nice brass knobs

I would use loctite 330 my glue of choice for differing awkward materials

Thread: Extension Socket
28/04/2016 09:41:13

The extension then would have no extraction facility

Thread: Single / three phase motor
24/04/2016 19:36:59

So connect blue and green , white and yellow, black and red together...then live to black red neutral to blue green cap to white yellow then other side of cap to live

24/04/2016 19:29:43

It's almost certainly a 3 phase only motor

You can wire it for 415v or 240v working

It's wired at the mo for 415 working (star)

Can you post a picture of the plate and is there wiring diagrams in the connection box /lid the cap may be to generated a phantom phase with a 5uf cap

You need to wire it as delta connection first then live to one corner neutral to another the cap to the last corner and the other side of the cap to live

Stuarts used to do alloy washers in a variety of thicknesses to get your fittings to the correct attitude

Thread: Best Quick Change?
10/04/2016 12:46:33

I had a dickson type on my student when i bought it

but sold it for lots of dosh on ebay £ 280 with 4 holders

I have the piston type large fitted with now 35 tool holders

Chronos do the tool holders for £25 ish but a few minutes work converts the smaller ( medium) size to a large size dovetail they are only £ 18 each

The dickson type is great but think about the costs of toolholders

Thread: New useful tool hole cutting
08/04/2016 14:24:29

It is exactly like a q-max cutter

the ram had a large body and large thread that can be repurposed as a bearing puller or anywhere else you may need 10tons of force albeit only over 20mm stroke

I have tried it on 2.5mm stainless 5 mm alloy so far 1mm steel it hardly stops at even at the large size 60mm or so

08/04/2016 13:59:38

and fairly dreadfull feedback

but it did arrive very quickly 3 days

theres a spare seal kit with it and i've done 30 holes testing it on various materials and it works great

08/04/2016 10:44:40

Yes the sizes are marked strangley but if you just select the size that you want rather than the marked size

I'm sure they are designed for electrical panel work

dies are easy enough to make if theres not the size you want

I bought from a local supplier a 6 ft length of hose with fittings last week for my floor press and that was £70

this machine complete for £40 seems crazy ( plus post)

07/04/2016 17:02:32

this is the item number :221766558666

i saw this on eBay and at £50 it seemed a steal if it was any good

Postage within the uk was included it weighs 12kg so that must be costly by Royal Mail...anyway it arrived today and it's brill...there's lots of uses for the pump and ram and also using it for its intended use of punching holes in 3mm thick steel I'm sure I will use it lotsimage.jpeg

Thread: Unconventional way of making a rack
06/04/2016 19:36:02

Is that why my end mills were breaking then because I was only running at 1600?

Thread: Colchester change gears?
