Hi,

I have just purchased a 1972 Adcock and shipley bridgeport mill and I cant seem to find any wiring diagrams, to date I have found nothing on the internet, so im hoping someone on here maybe able to help.

What I would like is the wiring diagram of the big metal enclosure box mounted on the side of the mill it has a transformer and contactors and an isolator switch.

Hopefully someone can help on here.

Thanks in advance

Richard

Thread: Stirling hot air engine plans
01/03/2012 20:35:43

Hi everybody,

Thanks for the info on the stirling engines.

Great picture Ian thats the sort of thing I was looking for I have tried to find the Dr Senft Moriya plans for the same looking engine as you have Ian.

Does anyone know if there are plans to build a stove top fan in the Stirling Hot Air Engine book by Roy Darlington, not sure if that book has any plans that I would be looking for ?

Thanks in advance Guys.

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get plans to build a stirling hot air engine fan the type that sits on top of a wood burning stove.

I am not sure where to look for such plans but would like to build a hot air engine fan. I believe there was a fan called moriya by Dr Senft.

If anyone has any info or advice I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance guys.

Thread: Vertex Auto Tapping Head
20/06/2011 21:42:23
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the useful info on the tapping heads,
It looks like I will be getting a tapping head unfortunately I can only afford a vertex one and not the Tapmatic make which I have seen on youtube.

I dont know if the vertex type has an adjustable clutch for different sizes of taps to stop breakage?.
I am hoping to use fluteless taps in the tapping head as the job I am doing at the moment needs tapped holes M4 size being tapped into aluminium profile extrusion, the only problem is that the hole to be tapped is not a complete round hole its like a C shape.
I am hand tapping it but you have to be careful that the flutes of the tap do not get caught on the open part of the hole as it can snag the tap.
I think the hole tapping operation would be ok on a fluteless tap and hopefully use a Auto reverse Tapping Head.

Many Thanks for all the great info as usual on here.
Regards

Hi Guys,
I am thinking about purchasing a Vertex Auto reversing tapping head to fit into my Meddings pillar drill.

I have lots of holes to tap but does anyone have any experience of this particular machine attachment or make?
I have never used an auto reverse tapping attachment before and they look quite a usefull addition to my workshop.

Any advice or info would be greatly received.

Regards
Richard

Hi,
I have just aquired a Meddings MF2 floor mounted drill press and I was wondering if anyone else has one because I dont know how to get at the quill bearings for a regrease etc,  Ideally I want to remove the Quill and strip if possible.
I have looked at the quill and everything is so well made and I dont want to try prising something off only to find it had a screw thread!!.
I have found how the return spring comes off but cant see how the star handle is removed (looks like some sort of locking pin!) which should lead to the quill coming out?
If anyone has any info/adjustments etc I would be very gratefull for anything.
Best Regards to everyone.
