That's solved it. Swopped the jumper, which strained my ageing eyesight, and the remote now functions correctly. Many thanks. |

I have set the control to remote and the potentiometer will control the speed but forward and reverse don't work. |

I have a used Mitsubishi D720 inverter which is OK when operated from the front panel. With a remote control pad connected only the potentiometer works, the forward, reverse and jog functions are dead. I presume that some of my parameter settings are wrong. Can anyone help?

Here in sunny Bracknell the town was wired for cable TV back in the 1970's and operated by NTL. This was taken over by Virgin who run the fibre to cabinet. Interestingly when I moved here you wern't allowed to erect a TV aerial. |

Presumably this motor is off a circular saw which only needs to run in one direction so may well be designed to be irreversible. |

I have one of these milling machines and generally find it satisfactory for milling mild steel. The biggest drawback in my opinion is the Z feed via a rack and pinion. With hindsight I would have bought one of the slightly larger mills with a screw fed Z axis. Looking at the AML16LV at £765. |

There's a chap advertising on the Homeworkshop site who grinds end mills quite cheaply. The money goes to a hospice so well worth supporting. |
