Hi my brother made shepards crooks and sticks using rams horn. The horn was boiled in water and when soft where tied to a wooden former. Left like this for a few days and the field sanded and polished. I know this is not what you asked but may just help. Arthur |

Hi Martin same hear.I have been looking for one for ages. I tried a engineer that repairs fork lift trucks.No joy. Some where on net some one was using a gas reg in reverse but now lost the site.I will be very interested if you find one that is not to expensive! Arthur |

When I bought my S7 this casting was cracked at the hinge. I took it to a mate that repaired aluminium former for the shoe trade.He welded it with a stick welder (DC?),That was 25+ years ago and is still good.

I put one of these motors on ebay last year bin £40.It sold in 40 min. Buyer picked it up next day said at this price if burnt out it was worth rewinding! But like you say very heavy motor. |

We used this type of clutch/motor on sewing machines. The spring and roller whent down the motor shaft to keep the flywheel and pulley apart. Hope this helps Arthur |

We used a belt like this on Quick Stop sewing machine motors.Google for Quick Stop belt. There are two sizes. They where also used on a tape cutting machine that came from Germany. These belts where much better. Arthur |

You need to put clutch brake on by pushing on the "heel" of the tredle and at the same time squeezing the belt together. The nylon is just a plug to lock the nut. We some times tap (belt) the spanner with copper hammer. |
