Thread: Attachment to make 'rattle can' easier to use.
20/06/2019 15:54:35

Many thanks to XD 351, Alan Lloyd3 and JasonB who guided me to the excellent CANGUN1. Just used it for the first time and it is just what I needed - easy to use and control.

Now how do I get the smell of radiator spray paint out of the house!

Anyone know of an attachment which fits on an aerosol can to make spraying easier which works - it is the old arthritis issue again. Tried one of the plastic designs which required more rather than less finger pressure.

To those I have upset, apologies. To those I have excited, thanks. To the rest of the 'readers' enjoy what ever you have pleasure doing.

Dave, why not replicate a 'Very Quickly'. Transfer style not important.

Thread: Irish Road Racing season on TV
01/05/2019 20:45:30

The Irish Road Racing season is flagged off this coming Tuesday on BBC NI TV - and the net - with the Cookstown 100 at 22-35. Enjoy.

For Dave of the NSU Quickly Thread - tuned examples were raced 'back in the day' when I was a first aider. Well with no personal transport it was a cheap way of getting to the races and often having the best view!

Thread: Telephone / Internet Scams
18/02/2019 09:33:27

An elderly friend plays along when he receives a scam call.. When asked to switch on his pc he explains it is another room and it will take a little time as he uses a walking stick. He then walks away from the phone, drops a biscuit tin and shouts as in pain for the caller to call an ambulance as he thinks he has broken his hip.

Without exception the line goes dead.

Perhaps build a model Bultaco this year?  Click on the left arrow to see the finished build.

Thread: Finger trouble
21/10/2018 15:53:48

Hi folk

Many thanks for all the suggestions and links which are greatly appreciated. As my late mother would have said 'folk can be very kind.' Now that I have got my head around the issue I realise it is trivial compared to many and feel much better. Our 5 year old grandson had a brilliant idea when he suggested I use my left hand just like granny! And why not.

Many thanks for the thoughtful comments. Much appreciated. Apologies for any confusion. My interest is in old British bikes – Sunbeam, Enfield, BSA, etc, all with imperial threads sizes for which I have a good selection of sockets. I am looking for a bar/drive with hex head to suit the s/d chuck and a ¼” sq end to accept a socket.

Once I have the nut/bolt in place I can go against instructions and finish with a spanner.

Jim

PS Apologies for double post. Tried to delete one but failed. As with most things in life!
