Thread: ARCEUROTRADE |

Always been a good company to deal with, my first port of call when I need something. Keith. |
Thread: Laser edge finders |
27/02/2015 16:23:56 |
Laser edge finders are over rated and not worth the money, if I hadn't had it bought for me I wouldn't have bothered. I use a dress makers pin in a holder, gets me within a thou or two of where I want to be. Keith. |
Thread: ideas on dismantling bearings |
13/12/2014 19:33:57 |
Hi All I might be talking out of my butt but looking at that bearing it looks to be arse about face. When I serviced tractors the tapered part went on first and the roller part was put on last with a nut and cotter pin to secure. Just my thoughts Keith. |
Thread: Diamond tool holder.?? |
08/11/2014 19:55:03 |
Hi Nick, Yes they are good, but as I'm too tight to buy at the prices they want I made my own. It's not hard to make one if you have a mill. Keith. |
Thread: Moriya by Dr James R Senft |

Hi Chuck I built two of these engines about ten years ago and they both still run as good as when they were first made. They don't take a lot of heat to get going so I would have thought a stove would be too hot for them to run for long. I built a stove fan for my daughter using a peltier plate and a cooling rad out of a computer. It worked fine stood on the back of the stove top. Regards Keith. |
Thread: Free Plastic |
07/10/2014 16:44:13 |
Hi Graham, I sent payment on the 5th of september I just hope I'm on the list. I know this has snowballed and will take time to get round everyone but just to know you got the money ok would be good. Regards metalmuncher. |

Thread: Buzzed by Spitfire! |
25/08/2014 09:26:01 |
Went to RAF Marham on Thursday and saw the two Lancs flying together with two Spitfires so had ten Merlins purring away. Must have been an awsome sound when they went off on a raid. Saw Diamond Lil about twenty odd years ago when she made the trip over here but not the same sound to send shivers down your back like the Merlins do. Keith. |
Thread: Extra Special Subscription Gift for Model Engineers’ Workshop |
19/11/2013 09:13:40 |
I got a renewal notice in the post and I renewed online nowhere was i prompted to enter a code for a free gift. I renewed for two years as it was cheaper that way. Its a shame that loyal readers don't qualify for a gift without having to play the system. |
Thread: Castings |
19/03/2012 09:18:57 |
Thanks guys, sorry i made a dogs breakfast of posting this. Not the easiest forum to post on unless I'm missing something, don't tell me a brain. Regards Metalmuncher. |

Please can anyone identify these castings, I picked them up off ebay in a job lot but don't know what they belong to. Edited By Metalmuncher on 18/03/2012 16:20:22 |
Thread: Edgar Westbury powered hacksaw castings. |
16/11/2010 21:41:36 |
If you can get hold of one of the first copys of MEW there were plans for a powered hacksaw. I think it was the third issue, I built one a couple of years ago and it uses a pravalux motor of about 1/6 hp. It has hacked its way though 4inch brass round with no complaints. Keith. |
Thread: Poor surface finish using Myford |
29/05/2010 10:18:42 |
Hi I have an old super 7 thats past its sell by date but it can still put a mirror finish on a piece of steel. No one has suggested using a slow feed and suds to get a good finish. My lathe will cut steel dry with carbide tools but the finish is crap and no amount of emery will make it better. Keith. |
