Hi

Can anyone help me with the dimensions of the steering brackets for the 1.5" allchin

The details are not on the drawings but a note says the dimensions are in ME vol 135 on page 653

Can anyone send me a screenshot

Thanks

Thanks for the replies

I bought a lot of old second hand iron castings that are good quality

I will post some pics tomorrow of what I think are the r and l hahd bevel gear centres

Do I still need to add pics to my album before they appear here or has it got easier?

Hi if there are any allchin builders out there can I ask a question about the lh driving boss

Did the casting you had have the ratchet stops for the winding gear cast in or do I have to cut them myself

Neither the drawings nor the book makes it clear but some of the pictures liik different to what I have

Thanks

Hi

I used to buy my ba stuff from Mike Sandyford of "items" mail order

Is this the same source as the items ad in the magazine, I ask because it seems very hard, at least to me, to find anything on the website

Hi

I recently placed an order for some spring steel strip on an online shop

The site said that due to problems the supplier had with Royal Mail my package would be sent by a courier at a cost of £6.5, a bit much I thought for an order of £3

When it arrived it had been sent by R M at a cost of £1.83

I contacted the seller to ask about the £4. 67 discrepancy and was told tough it's the website fault and no chance of a refund

Safe to say that was my first and last order from G S model supplies

Macc models have a good range of bronze and brass in smaller AF sizes and available in 6" lengths

Thread: Allchin outer wrapper
21/12/2020 13:44:43

Hi and thanks for the replies

I may have mislabelled the parts I bought as part built as only one of the tubeplates was silver soldered and it was scrap

I hope the pictures I have will upload okay

The wrapper is too long by 3/8 but the previous builder has cut the stay holes before reducing the size

I was thinking of cutting each side, removing the excess and but joining the sides back together

My other option is to buy a new copper sheet which will be in metric 2.5mm and make a new wrapper

Hi

I bought a pair of half built allchin boilers from the well known site

I have found, surprise surprise, that the outer wrappers are wrong

In a nutshell the stay holes have been drilled in the wrong place

But the wrappers are also too long so the problem could be fixed by cutting each side, removing the excess and re joining the sides back together which would bring everything back into line

This would mean a but joint either side with a strap on the insides

My question is will this be a safe way to fix it

Thanks in advance for any advice

Despite being a member and being able to login with my email I have been trying to take out a print subscription but the ghost in the machine insists my email is incorrect, it's not

What am I doing wrong
