Calling all collet experts!
I have 3 collets which are no good to me so I wish to sell them on to someone who can use them. I have never come across this size and wondered if any of you guys or girls have.
The dimensions are:

Length 2.185

Thread .640 x 24tpi

Keyway width .100

Thread: Identification.

So I’m assuming the displacement is of oil by condensed steam and that the valve at the bottom is to drain the condensation.
Is the steam inlet and oil outlet the same connection?

Ah thank you Duncan. That makes sense seeing the needle valve.

Is it of any use to a steam guy?

………apologies, the pic has somehow been rotated anti-clockwise by 90° 🤷‍♂️

Hi

I have this part which I think is for steam but I know very little about it. Is anyone here able to identify it?

Thread: Useful?
29/07/2021 22:23:57

Excellent. Well if that sells I’ll list mine. That is a 10bar one and mine is 10-30 psi according to writing on the box. I’ll test it tomorrow.

29/07/2021 22:17:46

I don’t think Oven man said it didn’t work. I’m certain it does and it is unused and still in its box. I just wondered if it was of any use to anyone but it seems not. I’ll be putting it on eBay and if it doesn’t sell it’ll be chucked in with the scrap as it is solid brass.

25/07/2021 18:46:02

I reposted it and it’s vanished 🤷‍♂️

25/07/2021 17:56:05

Thank you Bernard. I’ll repost it there.
👍

Hi. I have a pressure relief valve with a 3/8” thread on it. It is adjustable from 10-30PSI

My question is would it be of interest to anyone on here or should I eBay it?
I’m not a steam guy but I assume a boiler would run in excess of 30PSI 🤔

Thread: Myford Oil Pump
27/10/2020 22:04:37

Hi guys. I just need to share with all you Myford owners out there an amazing discovery.
I have two Myford pump type oilers which work very well if oiling myself is the objective!!

I think some oil may go where it is supposed to but can’t really be sure.

I have recently purchased a new oil pump and have to say it is 100% satisfactory 👍🏻
It oils where it should and doesn’t cover me in oil 😃

Here is a link to where I bought it and was only £17,00

I hope this helps to make some of you as happy as I am

p.s. I don’t get commission

Thread: Hello
21/10/2020 08:08:36

I’ve just read my last post and it sounds like I’m intending to use a 180v motor for the power feed 😳

im not, it’ll be a 24v motor 😃

18/10/2020 21:25:13

Hi Ramon. Thank you for your reply.
My table is about 600 long (I haven’t measured it)

How did you fit a longer table? Did you make it or modify an existing one?
I’m designing a power feed for the x (in my head🙄 and have a 180v dc motor running from a speed controller

I’d love a DRO too

Regards, Ritchie.

Thanks guys for the replies.
I am in Surrey and am semi retired. I grew up watching my father on his ML7 in his workshop and was hooked. I served an apprenticeship in mechanical and electronic engineering and ended that working as a service engineer repairing Royal Navy comms equipment.
I then served an apprenticeship in plumbing and heating and worked for many years as a boiler engineer but have finally managed to quit working 😀😀😀 giving me the time to play with machines. I spend my time restoring old machines and I own a Super 7, a Linley type jig borer/mill and a Denbigh pillar drill amongst other stuff.
I am in my workshop most days making things or repairing stuff. Today I have repaired a microwave oven and stripped a 6” machine vice for restoration. 40kg 😳

Hi guys. I am pleased to be a member here and part of the very useful and knowledgable community.

I have a simple question.
Can anyone tell me the number of posts necessary to view the full ads in the classified section?

thank you.

Thread: Denbugh Mill Paint Colour?
06/09/2020 08:42:42

Hi Nigel. I’ve just come across your post.
did you decide on a colour?
I recently restored my first Denbigh. It is a small bench top drill that originally had a lay shaft driven90° reduction box turning the pulleys but I am converting it to motor drive. I decided on Warco green and having never seen the colour in the flesh I was a little disappointed with how light it was. It has since grown on me. Whilst stripping another Denbigh fir spraying I discovered the original paint was a very similar colour to Warco green.
