BOC will not rent cylinders to private individuals. I believe I saw Helen from Western Steam demo'ing soldering a boiler with a BOC Porta Pac at the Meriden show a good 5 years ago or longer. She made it look very easy. i think you will find you can |

in my box of old screws/bolts is a few that have slightly triangulated threads they are tight in normal taped holes sadly i can only say i removed them from an oldish car and they are metric |

B&Q do lengths of black mild steel flat bar that's about 11 x 4mm. It machines nicely, but I've not needed to try bending it. Edited By Mick B1 on 22/09/2021 11:54:56 came apart in layers when i tried to put a bend in it avoid it it now |

I picked up a pair of Anglepoise lamps at a flea market for a couple of £s Roy i did this then binned the light and housing replaced them with a bean can which holds a house hold LED 12V down lighter transformer is in the base of the machine

i put a ceiling and insulation in my workshop/ garage mainly to keep it warmer in winter it also keeps it cooler in summer. also reduces condensation. well worth the time and expence of doing it. |

i have one of these bought it with stand and some tooling about 2 years ago for around £800 its had very little use was still covered in the protective wax[and sawdust]. it has no name attached so can't tell if its the same size as yours |

a desire to get the job done in reasonable time. drilling is to slightly less than tapping finished size. I would rough screw-cut the threads and finish with a tap (under power in the lathe?) - likely saves time compared to getting the single point threading just right. sorry i am confused if you got a tap why not drill it the correct size and tap the thread |
