hi all i recently brought a holbrook c13 lathe im wanting to change the orginal 3 speed motor to a single speed and have 3 different setting on the vfd to replicate the 3 motor speeds i know somebody on here had done this on a holbrook c10 i wonder if anybody has any further information on this iv used vfd inverters in the past to wire my old lathe with start stop fwd revs etc just not played with using different frequency settings to the vfd to replicate the speed 1 2 3 of the holbrooks controls
thanks in advance |

Is you Centec 2b motor a 2800 rpm motor as standard mine is only a 1400 rpm |

Hi all I recently brought a Centec 2b local to me very cheap with a quill head Didn’t realise the size of the swarf tray 2 questions
I need a new bellows for the z axis lead screw what do people use
also I use carbide end mills don’t have hss I find 1400 rpm a little slow for using the vertical head do people change the motor to a more powerful 2 pole or play around with different size pulleys thanks in advance |

My gear shift knob is not orginal the orginal ones where not ball shape
The vfd functions I believe are very useful I think the elliot 10m slowest speed is still a little fast for roughing |

I'm currently in the process of putting bigger flip top oilers on the ram and putting wipers on there to to keep the oil in I have been amazed at the shear power of these machines last night I was roughing down some steel at a 4.5 mm depth of cut I'm sure this could he improved as it's the first shaper tool of made |

I went with 6 pole 1hp as the vfd when lowering the frequency the power is still there I bored the orginal pulley and cut the keyway to make the motor up and running seems to work beautifully thanks for all the help |

Never feel like a slight increase in power is needed |

The original motor was a 3/4 hp 6 pole I'm guessing slightly lower speed more torque just wondered if people use a 1 hp rather than 3/4 |
