Thread: Email woes

Thanks for the replies.................

Hello Vic,

I'm aware of the phrase................

"If you pay for a service then you are the customer, if you don't have to pay then you become the product"

I just can't seem to get the email spam filters to work effectively for me.

Please can anyone offer advice on how to obtain a personal internet domain name, I've had my fill of "hotmail"?

Thanks,

Rob

Hello Vic,

I have the same fitting at my house. I think the sleeve forms the water trap to prevent foul smells to atmosphere.

"I've been down this road and agree about the instability of a "Bantam" on the move and I thought the controls a little too low for comfort so I fitted these rollers when restoring mine. They are 50mm box section with 22mm bearings as wheels.

I've used this treatment (ACF 50) on my precious motorbike and lathe over winter in a marine environment to good effect. A bit pricey, but then most things which are good are seldom cheap!

img_0138.jpgFor completeness, here is what I've found for adjustment on Mk1 Bantam.

img_0140 2.jpgI wound in the 1/4"unc screw in the end of the barrel screw to achieve an ejection of MT fittings at approximately 1/8" below the zero point on the barrel.

Grateful thanks for your replies.

Please can anyone enlighten me on how to adjust the point at which the tailstock ejects a Morse taper fitting when the barrel is wound back? At present, mine ejects at about 1/4" projection of the barrel, I'd like it to be below the zero point.

Rob

Good evening all,

Has anyone fitted a Myford type milling attachment to a Mk1 Bantam? If so, I'd really appreciate some photos and hints on "how to".

Please can any one suggest a (chemically or otherwise) method of enhansing the visibility of the micro graduations on the cross slide dials of my recently partially restored Mk1 Bantam?

Thread: Bantam thread cutting set-up?
09/08/2020 17:50:54

Sorry Gentlemen, not familiar with the posting method on this forum, pushed the wrong button!

Here's my lockdown efforts, my first lathe.img_20200406_172008420_hdr.jpeg

The bed way valleys are quite pitted but the bearing surfaces appear OK and the Eagle gearbox was badly mashed and some of the cog teeth needed dressing with a file. I've got the feed drive to work but it's noisy at high revs.

My question is when setting up for screw cutting do the driver and driven cogs run on different cogs of the compound idler(120T/127T). I appologise, I'm finding the user manual quite difficult to understand.

Could it be for measuring the level of the remaining liquid in the bottom of a liquid (oil) tank?
