Time for the mods to lock this thread

Brian Warwick - nothing wrong with your post at all and nothing for you to apologise for imho.

Tis some of the others that should be doing that.

Forum has two problems - members are incapable of keeping to the subject matter in hand and Mods not as on the ball as they should be and it is getting worse and spoiling it for me hence my low number of posts

The Model Boat Mayhem forum cater for steam boats - I belong to it - This question has been asked before on there and it seems it is below the bar rating requirements.

It may be worth joining and asking your question where they cater for model steam boats .

Free to join and a goof helpful crowd.

Similar problem back along. Cleaned out holes as best I could. Filled with JB weld and retapped BA .

Neil  -  interesting comment  -  I was thinking of 7.25 as have a field available for this project. Laying a ground level track appeals to me more than a building a raised level track.

This may be an alternative solution.

On ebay - item no 352374527244 - a Minnie boiler currently at £89.23 with 18 hours to go.

I am no boiler expert but looks ok - perhaps some of our more experienced members could comment or offer advice ?

Station Road Steam have a rolling chassis plus parts which looks well made.

This is interesting - there is a chap on the mamod toy steam forum called slash 1953 with exactly the same problem

Boiler looks as if it is made of copper from his photo.

I think it looks as it may go in the centre at the top but just one safety valve.

Can a boiler with just one safety valve meet the current regulations please ?

Looking at a part started one but cannot see any safety valves on the drawing.

Would appreciate knowing if would be able to use at a club as designed please as not familiar with current regulations.?

I have a Suart d10 which I am told is the basis of a 5 inch gauge vertical boiler

shunter.

I am told there was a series of articles on it many years ago in the model engineer but struggling to find.

Any help on locating any info would be much appreciated.

If anybody has built one / owns one would be pleased to hear from you.

Apart from the Launceston Steam Railway, which is in town, I have yet to find anybody in the least bit interested in our hobby in the area. A meet up in Devon would be more than welcome.
